About Methodical.

A Pahrump-based studio for the cars worth keeping. The discipline of a restoration shop, the precision of a watchmaker, the patience of an old foreman who knows that the second-best way to do something is "twice."

Est. 2024 By Appointment Only Indoor Climate-Controlled Shop 4-Stage Water Filtration

The thesis.

Most of what goes wrong with paint isn't caused by neglect. It's caused by haste. A two-hour wash that drags grit across a clear coat. A coating laid on a 110-degree summer day that flashes off before it can level. A "polish" applied over un-corrected paint that locks every defect in for a decade.

We started Methodical because we saw too many vehicles whose owners had paid for premium work — and gotten compromised work because the shop was busy, the bay was outdoors, the water came straight from the tap, and the calendar was built around volume rather than care.

So we built the opposite. A shop with one bay, climate-controlled year-round, fed by a 4-stage water filtration system that outputs at zero PPM dissolved solids. A calendar that intentionally gaps to two or three days per vehicle. A phone that we answer ourselves. And a discipline of saying "no" — to up-sells, to rushed timelines, and to corners that shouldn't be cut.

What we do.

Five things, done methodically:

Who we serve.

Affluent residents 55+ in Pahrump, Nye County, and the western Las Vegas Valley. Many are retired or semi-retired. They have garage space, time, and a relationship with their vehicles that goes beyond transportation. They own classic American iron from the 50s through 70s, late-model luxury daily drivers, low-mile collectibles, and high-value motorhomes. They value reputation over advertising, phone calls over forms, predictable pricing, and consistency from one visit to the next.

We don't sell. We educate, we walk through the process, and we let the work speak. The first detail is the audition. The maintenance plan is the relationship.

Why indoor matters.

Every reputable ceramic coating manufacturer publishes the same application range: a clean, dry surface between roughly 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, out of direct sunlight, in dust-free air. In Pahrump, that environment doesn't exist outdoors for most of the year. Surface temperatures on a paint panel sitting in a Nevada driveway routinely cross 130°F by mid-morning.

Coating laid on a surface that hot flashes off before it can level. The result looks fine the first week and starts streaking, hazing, or high-spotting within months. We don't take chances with that. Every paint correction and every ceramic coating application happens inside our shop, with the temperature held in spec, dust kept out, and a full 24-hour indoor cure before the vehicle goes back into the sun.

The non-negotiable: if a coating shop is willing to install on your driveway in July, they're willing to risk your paint to save themselves a tow. We're not. — The methodical principle

Why filtered water matters.

Pahrump has some of the hardest water in Nevada — typically 250–400 PPM total dissolved solids, with high calcium, magnesium, and chlorine. Run that across a clear coat in the desert sun and it leaves mineral deposits that bake into the paint. Most shops "rinse with hose water" because it's easy. We don't. Every drop that touches your vehicle in our shop has passed through four stages of filtration: sediment, activated carbon, water softener, and deionization. Read more about the system →
